Has anyone tried painting their caddy? I just got the real big one on cbid, but it's ugly grey. I plan on a CW sticker for the side or bottom, but I'd love to get a mural airbrushed on the lid...think it'd be durable on the plastic?

Just make sure none of the paint fumes get inside. It could be a real pain getting the odor out and the smell would certainly ruin any cigars that are stored inside.

I'm no paint expert or plastics expert but I do know some types of plastics are more difficult to paint than others. Don't know if it applies to you or not.

I'm guessing you'd just have to sand it down first to get the paint to stick but my buddy owns a body shop and has to paint plastic sometimes so when I see him I'll ask.

Decals would be a better way to go, IMO...

There are different primers for different plastics. Take it to a hobby shop that sells airbrush supplies and ask them.

after a friend of mine painted a couple of video game systems and I asked him what he used and he told me Krylon Fusion specially made for painting plastic so I used it on some plastic patio furniture and a couple of other plastic items with great success

advantages are

*No sanding, no priming, no fuss
*Dries in 15 minutes or less

if you want a one of a kind cigar caddy try using this Krylon Fusion Mystic Prism I know it looks great over grey, black, and white cause my buddy used this color on a ps2, xbox, ps one, and an old playstation

Krylon Fusion is good stuff. It actually becomes part of the plastic from what they say.
