News reports are stating he played for 3 hours at Woodstock. Not true. While he did open and was asked to extend his set, which he did by playing Beatles songs which he didn't know all the words to and making up the song "freedom" on the spot, his set list was only 10 or 11 songs and he played for about an hour. He went on at 5pm, 2 groups after him each played 45 minutes and were filmed playing in daylight (sunset around 8 pm), so he probably played for about an hour or so. Just wanted to set the facts straight. All in all, it was an historic performance at Woodstock.
