Rinaldo or Castello
I'm thinking about picking up a new pipe for myself as a birthday present. On one hand I've always wanted to Castello Sea Rock on the other I'm kind of smitten with some Rinaldos. Price difference between the two is negligible.
Any profound preferences from you all? Something else I should consider also? |

I have always preferred Castellos. Started with them when you could buy a new one for $70.00. Always loved they smoked.

I'm not familiar with Rinaldo. Love my Castellos, among my best pipes.

I've accumulated mostly English and French pipes. Not many Italians in the collection. Rinaldo comes up from time to time as an Italian maker to consider. Sea Rock has been on my list for a long time though. It's good to have choices.

Absolutely, and the Sea Rocks do have a really cool rustication to them. Also look at the Old Antiquari which is their sandblast style.

Well heck. Didn't like any of the Sea Rocks currently in stock. Took a flier on a Radice Rind G. A massive sitting billiard. I'll try for the Sea Rock next year, but start looking earlier. At least it's still Italian.
