If you had given me 1000 to 1 odds, on a $10 bet, that the Dutch would beat Spain by at least four goals, I would have said, "Why would I waste $10." Spain is old and their time seems to have passed. The next match will be their death knell if they come out like they did today. Worst defeat in group play by a defending champion in WC history.

One of the reasons I love soccer and the World Cup is the total unpredictability of the outcome.

Mexico should have scored four goals. Cameroon is the typical Sub-Saharan African team... fast, talented individually, with absolutely no shape and discipline. Mexico is sloooooow in the back four. They had best make adjustments or it's bye-bye.

Australia impressed me. The Aussies are the lowest ranked team in the tourney. But they could have given up but dug deep inside to make a game of it. Chile takes their foot off the pedal like they did today after 15 minutes and Brazil and the Dutch will eat them alive.

The referee teams that did the Brazil-Croatia and the Mexico-Cameroon matches should be given the same things... airplanes tickets home. Shameful and incompetent.
