new humidor
I need a little help. I am a new smoker, new to this forum and won a new humidor in a raffle - a Montecristo 75th Anniversay Humidor that opens on the sides and has five draws on each side.
My problem is I have no idea how to get the humidity right(balanced) Each side door has a humidifier(250 cigars each) and a hydrometer/temperature gauge on each side. I get consistent temperature readings on either side(65 - 70) but humidity readings range from 67 -83. What is truly troubling is the humidity level in the center of the box. i bought a hydrometer with a remote sensor and put the sensor in the center of the humidor. I get readings of 60 - 61. I then moved the sensor to the top draw on one side and got the same readings. The cigar lounge I frequent has no one that has been able to make a good suggestion. I even emailed montecristo (forgot the parent corp. name) and got no response I don't know if it is a design flaw(doubtful) my in experience (probable) or what. The front of the two side doors seem to get more than enough moisture but the interior does not. Any ideas anyone? |
