what constitutes a good cooler?

I'm thinking of getting a cooler going, but have no idea if there are ones to stay away from or one to definately look for.

I get using beads and such, but just don't want to blow money on a crappy cooler to store sticks in.

I have read the stickied coolidor thread and didn't find anything on specific coolers.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys (and gals).
