Punch Monarca Aluminum Tube
I think I have found my new favorite churchill. Smoked one of these recently from a 2001 batch. The cigar comes packaged inside an aluminum tube and is perfectly round, no box press. The wrapper is very smooth and oily and the color varies in different shades of reddish brown. The head of the cigar was very rounded and cut nicely. The cigar itself had that earthy barnyard scent mixed with a honey aroma. As far as the smoke, it started out very mild, but at about a third of the way through its flavor exploded. The flavors I sensed were honey and a powdery citrus overtone. It burned perfectly with no touch ups with a solid light gray ash. The rest of these are going to rest for a while, if I can keep my hands off of them. I have been leery of cigars from the 99 - 01 years, but these are on. Highly recommended.
