Alpha Wolf Mystery Domestic
Alpha Wolf included an unknown mystery domestic cigar in a recent box pass, and asked whoever smoked it to post a review. Not to experienced with writing reviews (the only other cigar that I reviews was a Topper) but I will give it a shot.
Appearance/Construction/Aroma - This was a nice looking cigar (with a bit of a crack in the wrapper around the head? foot? the side you smoke). A nice mellow brown color (EMS? I am not good with colors), it had bit of tooth to the wrapper, but overall looked very smooth. A little spongey, it still had a nice feel. The smell was nice, but I didn't really notice anything I could pinpoint. Lighting/Burning - The cigar lit easilly and burned smoothly thoughout. A dark grey ash built to about 1.5 inches before I knocked it off (I know, I am supposed to let it go as long as possible, but I was reading a book, and didn't want to get cigar ash on it). The cigar burned evenly throughout the entire smoke, lasting about 50 minutes. I smoked it to about 1 inch. Taste - I am not good at picking out subtle tastes or flavors, but I will try. It was a relatively mild smoke, with a full bodied flavor. I *think* I could detect a bit of earthiness to it (at least what I would think earthiness would taste like), and a hint of a spice, but not enough to give it a real kick. The taste was pretty uniform throughout the entire cigar, but occasionally it got a little "complex" - it tasted a little different. Smoke - Lots of it. Every puff was a full one, with lots of billowy smoke. No problem with the draw, it was fine the entire way throughout. Overall - A good tasting, relatively mild cigar, with a nice "tobacco" flavor. I enjoyed it. I would rate it 6.5 or 7 out of 10. Chris
