Fabrication: Dominican Republic
Wrapper leaf: San Andres negro (Ecuador). Very thin and fragile, requiring some care in handling. Sienna to cocoa brown hue with a khaki cast. Glistening surface oils and fine tooth.
Binder/Filler: Respectively, cocoa brown with sandalwood tones and ochre tinged raw sienna to Van Dyke brown in colour. The blend incorporates Dominican, Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos.

Accompanying beverages: Eagle Rare 10 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon and a tall glass of cool, filtered water.

Pre-light aroma: Well cured tobacco with distinct mocha coffee overtones, plus a hint of sweetness evoking a sensation of pear compote.

Early stages: Falls within the mild to medium intensity spectrum. Very faint cedar imbued herbaceous quality counterbalanced by the merest touch of toffee sweetness.
Further in: A refreshing medley of mint, liquorice and citrus. Beneath this characteristic lies a suggestion of fruit-like ripeness alongside the rather demure core taste of tobacco.
Mid to latter stages: Finally, the chocolate and coffee qualities noted in the pre-light aroma begin to emerge on the palate, and the tobacco flavour simultaneously gains in amplitude. Very subtle and finely balanced.

Impression: The antithesis of a blockbuster. Slow, gentle draws are rewarded with a fair degree of complexity and flavour development. Morning to mid afternoon by preference.
