1998 Cohiba Siglo II (Short Review)
Cohiba Siglo II
5 inches by 42-ring gauge Marevas I lit this little beauty up two weekends ago while in the country. Of course, the fact that the Cohiba had attained almost a decade of age only added to my expectations. The cigar did not disappoint! A solid core of richly textured and totally non-abrasive as well as well cured and full bodied tobacco persisted from start to finish. However, maturity had lent the secondary flavours a lovely crème brûlée quality, which simply melted in my mouth. Furthermore, that archetypal Cohiba grassiness appeared to have taken on the taste of freshly chopped chives - a very nice counterpoint to the overall lushness of the Petit Corona. Good?
