Palio Quality?

I got one of the new palio cutters in January. The little card that came in the case says it was assembled on dec. 27 2005. Whenever I cut with my palio, it seems to tear on one side. Basically, one blade seems to do a really poor job cutting and leaves the filler all rugged. The other blade produces a nice smooth cut. The cut doesnt make it unsmokable, its just kind of annoying. I was just wondering if this was normal for a palio? I had heard about a bad production run earlier for palios but since mine was assembled in December, I figured it was past that stage. Any thoughts?
