It all depends on the environment. If your basement is around 65-67 degrees and the humidity is 63-70, then you're good to go as long as you want. Did I mention that I'm jealous??

Storing them in a humi surrounded by spanish cedar would be optimum. However, if the conditions are okay (temp and humidity), then your smokes should be good to go for a long time. Nonetheless, I'd still probably invest in a small cooler that you can buy at Wal-Mart for less than twenty bucks.
