It's amazing to realize that over 40 years have passed since

...the John Coltrane Quartet recorded one of the most influential jazz albums of all time, A Love Supreme.

The incomparable saxophonist actually came to Montreal in 1964, though I had yet to discover the revelatory nature of his music.

Chanting, furrowing deeply into emotionally wrenching soulfullness, then soaring toward unknown horizons, Coltrane and his group managed to extricate the music from its temporal bounds, and to inspire generations of fellow explorers to come.

Even after countless listenings, I remain in total awe of this 4-part suite.

Timeless.
