Suggestions, rehabilitating a musty closet for cigar storage

My new house has a small closet that I think used to be a dumbwaiter. It's the perfect place for me to put my large 400 count humidor as well as a few bottles of scotch and so forth. The problem is, I don't think it's been used in many years and it has a kind of musty smell to it. I don't want to take any chances infusing my anejos with "old lady smell". Any suggestions?
