It depends on what you are using them for. In a cabinet, I'd take the CO. In a desktop humi or a cooler, I'd use the beads.

Oasis is active
beads are passive

Depends what your objective is, both work very well and in cases work together very well also. Not sure what your looking for here either?

Are passive beads as good as an active CO?

It's not a yes or no answer. Why don't you provide us with some more information, such as where you would be using the beads/co, etc? We can then provide you with more specific answers.

For a small cabinet, I prefer the CO+, but you can use beads. I use a CO+ in my Aristocrat Mini and it's perfect. It's very easy to maintain. I add water about once a month, although it sometimes doesn't need much.

If you live in an area with high humidity, then you might want to put a pound or so of beads inside to absorb any extra humidity. The CO can only add moisture, it can't remove it. I keep my cabinet in a climate controlled office, so the outside RH never gets over 50, so I don't need the beads. But if the outside RH gets over 70, you'll probably want to use the beads and a CO.
