For prflani re: RS remote sensors
O.K. The central unit is Model No.63-1030. It costs $53.99US. One can add up to 3 remote sensors (Model No.63-1031) at a mximum range of 300 feet. The remotes re-transmit to the central unit every 41 seconds, and you can then hop-skip-jump between the readings for the 3 remote sensors simply by pushing a button on the central unit. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jazznut. So basically it would cost a little over $150 including the cost of the three sensors. It's a shame that it can't handle more remote sensors - I need 5 and and maybe a 6th fairly soon. I'll be there would be a problem using two of these setups in close proximity also because of radio frequency conflicts. Oh well, I do appreciate your effort Doug but it sounds like this will remain on my wish list. I do think I'll stop in a talk to them about it next time I go by there. Thanks again.
Phil

prflani,
You might want to check out the Extech remote system. It will handle up to 6 remote hygrometers. http://www.extechproducts.com/ There can be some variation between the remotes. I know I would need a cheat sheet to keep track of 6 different calibrations....lol. not as many memory cells as I used to have.... Cheers, Bob Staebell |

Bob...Thanks for the info. I checked it out and this seems to fit my needs exactly. I've decided that the 6th sensor would be nice for monitoring ambient humidity. That measurement is a good way to help understand if a drop or rise in container humidity might be due to an change in ambient moisture. It looks like the total cost for me would be a little over $250. That's a bit more than I would have liked to spend, but I'm probably gonna go with it. Thank you again...This was most helpful!
