I almost included Lyle in the country music thread, but I just can't force him into that genre.....to me he's in a catagory by himself, kinda along the lines of Tom Waits or maybe Randy Newman....any Lyle Lovett fans on the board. I will usually pick up one of his CD's without even a preview listen.
The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away.£

He is a giant. I agree - will buy his CDs without worry.

I'm a big Lyle Lovett fan. I used to go see him open for no-names at a little club around the corner from my house in Houston years ago. I also like Robert Earle Keen but his last few albums have been far less than stellar---he'll never have another album as good as West Textures. JMHO
