The Famous Magazine's Cigar of the Year-2016
Y'all agree with this?
That big-budget print journal has counted down it's top cigars of the year. cA has chosen this: LFD Andalusian Bull hat tip to Two Guys and their The Cigar Authority publication/radio/webcast for sharing this information. I've never had one. Stan? Jeff? Anyone else?

Ace's, my local shop, carries a TON of LFD's. Will have to see.
'Course, the ring gauge will be too big, so never mind. |

I reluctantly confess that I'm still a cA subscriber.

Not a thing wrong with that, Rob. We have a lot to thank cA for, they along with an influential early subscriber who has 22,000,000 listeners on radio per week, did a LOT to legitimize, again, cigar-smoking in our society some 25 years ago. Despite the success of the anti-smoking movement in the intervening time, cigar-smoking, and our lifestyle, or hobby, is still surviving despite their efforts.
I give cA a great deal of credit. Conrad, we're the opposite, I have always liked La Flor Dominicana going back to my earliest days of smoking. I'd love a bit of extra cash to go see if I can find an El Jocko Perfecto at a local shop. Haven't had one of those in a long time, when, once, they were a favorite.

Tommy, you're right, of course. cA has done a lot for the cigar industry. Are they perfect? No. But who is?

La Flor Dominicana is not one of my favorite brands, so I tend to stay away from them. Never heard of the Andalusian Bull.

pre light... excellent and I do mean world class construction... solid from foot to cap... shiny dark wrapper, veiny, no spots... smell is rich deep tobacco
lights easily, perfect, easy draw initial flavors are woody with some cedar, dark ash, sparse smoke, but mouth watering beginning at the 1 inch point flavors build, but remain woody, smoke levels build, flavors begin to coat mouth at 2 inches flavors build to leather and deep earthiness, construction remains rock solid, draw easy, ash dark, smoke voluminous after mid point wrapper splits... so a note on this... smoked in my car on a day with temps starting at 3 and dropping to -1. Very dry air, which also likely impacts flavor profile. Solid construction to end, woodiness lessens, more leathery and earthy. Best cigar of the year? How the hell do you decide that? Good cigar - most certainly, great cigar? Maybe on a better day for smoking cigars. Value? That depends on you.
