torch lighters versus flint lighters

Another thread prompted me to comment on torch lighters versus flint lighters.

I started smoking cigars using torch lighters. I liked the precise control of the flame over the foot of the cigar.

When my wife gave me an Atoll flint lighter, I wasn't so crazy about it. She wanted me to have something nice to look at instead of the industrial torch lighters I was using. I discovered that flint lighters light a cigar much faster than a torch lighter will.

I usually smoke in places with very little wind, so the precision of the torch really isn't necessary. My cigars burn pretty straight once since my humidity is under control.

Now my preference is to use a flint lighter. I use a torch lighter to touch up the ocassional burn problem.
