Tribute Bands (Beatles)
Saw a pretty darn good Beatles tribute band in Branson, MO last Friday.
Liverpool Legends. The band was formed by the sister of George Harrison. All live music, no tape. The vocals were extremely close to actual Beatles. Music was awesome. It was enjoyable, but sad too. As good as they were, they still weren't the Beatles. I generally avoid tribute bands, Elvis impersonators...etc. If I can't see the original, I'm not interested. That said, this was a very enjoyable show. Are there any tribute bands you guys like, or maybe even beatles bands you might like?

I saw a Beatles one on PBS a couple of months ago and they were amazing. Even changed costumes throughout to closely resemble them through their career.

These guys did the same. When doing some of Early Beatle songs, they dressed in the suits, boots.
Then they came out dressed like the Sgt Pepper era, and played songs from that item. (complete with mustaches, and facial hair) Then another costume change, to their later stylings. They were quite good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WC2p8JfNZkM http://www.liverpoollegends.com

I was lucky enough to be around when Beatles were still a group. Some of the tribute bands are good, but nothing beats the originals.
At least they aren't as annoying and 45 million Elvis impersonators.

Australian Pink Floyd does a really good job. David Gilmore hired them to play his wedding, they were so good.

I know two guys (can't remember their names at the moment) from one of the biggest KISS tribute bands. The lead guitar player is kind of a dork, really squirrely but he kicks ass on guitar.
I met the drummer about a year ago and he's a super nice guy, real laid back. I asked him why would they pick a place like our area to come to? He said "I made my money, now I want to listen to other musicians and there are some good ones around here". He's got a nice looking girl-next-door type wife too and she's really sweet. I also met one of the guys that used to produce Elvis' records, Johnny something, and asked why he moved to BFE? He said "look around, it's beautiful here and I live on a lake". He's a good singer and decent guitar player but all he does is 50's style rock, mostly Elvis tunes.

Who the hell would want to do a tribute band to a lame-ass pop band like the Beatles? *ducks*

I am the same way, I usually dislike tribute bands, but a few that I have heard are OK. The two Grateful Dead tribute bands, I have seen were pretty good. Not quite as good as the Original band, but I enjoyed both shows.
