A J Fernandez New World

WRAPPER: Dark Nicaragua
BINDER: Jalapa
FILLER: Blend of Ometepe, Condega and Estelí

Robusto 5.5 x 55

I got this cigar as part of sampler from cigarandpipes.com and was looking forward to this one as it was cw's #8 ranked cigar of 2016.

Upon inspection, it has a nice dark wrapper with a slight roughness, what I anticipate are little flavor pods up and down the cigar. Its not too tightly rolled and is box pressed. It had an easy prelight draw.

On lighting, I got a nice rich full first puff. First third, I got wood and light pepper. Second third, the pepper built up and I started feeling the strength of this medium to full strength cigar. Last third was more of the same with some earthiness balancing out the pepper.

Having taken some time away from cigars, I seem to have learned to be more patient. It never got hot and had a great even burn throughout.

For some reason I had been was wanting a box pressed cigar, this certainly hit the spot. I can see why this was a favorite!
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
