I'm Moving on!

I've been loving latakia blends for the last couple of years. I think I'm ready for a standard day smoke. What I'm looking for is a full bodied english/virginia that's fairly complex. So where should I start? I'm thinking Cornell & Diehl Bayou Morning, or Rattrey Hal' O the Wind. The kicker to all of this is that it must be fairly strong but be able to smoked all day and my wife can't hate the smell! These latakia blends are starting to annoying her

any advice appericated!

McClelland 2015 is a nice VA/perique... I dunno about the smell, though. Esoterica Stonehaven is a stoved VA/burley flake, very powerful. Also worth a try.

Wish I could help ... but I like my tobaccos more in the medium range. Rattray is a quality brand though ... but I'm not sure Hal 'o the Wynd would be a good all-day blend. I think your tongue would quickly turn to leather. You might want to try something with a good bit of burley to temper down the heat of the Virginias and help with the aroma.

My wife hates the smell of Latakia ... but likes the aroma of MacBaren Navy Flake ( Burley / Va blend ).

I'd suggest just talking to Craig Tarler @ Cornell & Diehl. He has so many different blends to choose from ... I'm sure he can put together a good sampler for you to explore based on your wants / needs.

Ravens Wing ... while very good, will surely make his wife think she had landed in the middle of a smoldering forest fire.

Some better "aroma friendly / all-day" blends from Mr Pease would be Barbary Coast or Cumberland

I would get all of the above just to be on the safe side. They are some of the best tobaccos, IMHO all excellent suggestions.

If you want something that will please the wifes nose get a little Dan Tobacco, Blue Note. It is something I only smoke when the ladies are around. I haven't found one to object to it yet.

GLPease makes some very nice blends. Of note are the Barbary Coast and Haddos Delight.
