Cool Cooking Gadgets

I would like to start a sticky thread on cooking gadgets that could be useful in preparing food.

Here's a cool cooking gadget. The Gourmia GBQ330 portable charcoal electric grill. Grilling at the table top. Sounds cool. Check it out...

Amazon has them for $100.

Used a garlic press for the 2nd time in my life last night, to make sauteed spinach with garlic. Oh damn. Why did I wait so long.

Yes, they get messy. but such tiny little bits of garlic to gently sweat in the olive oil before adding the spinach!

I kept breaking them. Squeeze/CRACK!/Dammit, there goes another one. There are certain tools that I shouldn't touch.

I had the same problem until I bought the Kuhn-Ricon garlic press. It's a tad pricey at $30, but it is well constructed of stainless and is a unique design that is also easy to clean. Cheap presses are often made of pot metal that fractures easily.

I got a Power Airfryer XL last Christmas, and I have been using it a lot since then. I was skeptical at first sine it is an As Seen On TV item. But after using it for some time now, I must share my thoughts on this. First, it is super easy to use, add food, set it according to presets or your own settings, hit cook. Check it about half way the cooking cycle, and continue. It basically fry's food without oil. It uses heat and air. I must admit, it works extremely well. I have cooked frozen and fresh french fries, frozen onion rings, frozen breaded fish, frozen chicken tenders, frozen and fresh chicken wings, fried chicken, roasted chicken, other quick and easy foods. So easy, saves time, and great at oil-less cooking. Check it out...

Shop around, I have seen it as low as $99 at places like Target, Walmart, and Kohl's.
