Any experience with the Walnut Desktop Cigar Cutter from CI?

Cheap in price - wondering if anyone has one of THESE PUPPIES and how they compare to your best pocket cutter?

Looks a little aggressive with the depth of the cut to me.... I wonder if you can adjust that?

Otherwise, nice for under $30.

On you 1st point - judging from the picture, I agree - the cut is too deep - maybe someone who owns one can tell us more.

On your 2nd point, "nice for under $30", judging from the picture, I agree - but, I don't see how it could possibly be nice for under $30 - The real question is how bad is it? I hope someone who owns one will chime in this week, otherwise, I'll just have to buy it and post my results

My local has a single blade plunger cutter on their counter. It's not the same as the one in the picture, but I imagine the concept is the same. It SUCKS. The blade tears the cigar wrapper. We tried it three times and every cut was terrible.

I have a fold up ashtray that has a guiottine setup. It has the ashtray for the head to fall into, the Guiottine cutter, then a slide for the cigar to adjust to the cutter. Pretty to look at, but functionally, the cutter sucks. The ashtray works just great, though.

my old local B&M had one of those fancy $500 boston desktop v-cutters....and, well, if it was even possible to make a cut worth $500 (it isn't) this thing would be the closest prayer....didn't even think it cut the cigar at all....did a few cigars on it and its actually quite amazing....if you like vcuts
