Does bourbon age well?

I hate moving, yet I love it. Packing up my stuff yet again I found two sealed bottles of EWSB 1994. That was a stellar year for the EWSB. I do know that much. What I don't know: does bourbon age well or do I now have two bottles of old crap?

It doesn't age once in the bottle. If they haven't been opened they should be as good as the day you got em.

They age for shit once out of the barrel. Please send them for disposal to the address in my profile.

Correct...but with one caveat: If the cork degrades, as they may do over time, then you have a problem.

Nothing a seine can't fix.

Personal experience, it may not age but it certainly does mellow. But we are talking 20+ years.

Not really. If the cork degrades to the point where oxygen gets into the bottle, the bourbon will go downhill pretty quickly. Personal experience, that.

Oh, I see. The cork in the bottle I experienced did not fall apart until I tried to remove it from the bottle. Decanted the bourbon through a seine into a crystal decanter and enjoyed it enormously.
