Chapter 2.

Even though Patton & others had that call and response between guitar/vocals Patton (btw: he was not black he was mixed), Patton was a clown with the guitar playing between his legs & such. I used the term 'over-the-top' as in your-face referring to the
modern guys but Patton, Son House, Muddy..etc was very much in your face players with vocal chops to match

Buddy Guy has always been a madman on guitar the only thing that has changed about him is song selection & showmanship.

I just wanted to clear up that over-the-top guitar (& other instruments) has always been part of the blues it's just more prominent these days maybe it has become the main focus.

Back on SRV,I think his rhythm playing was EXCELLENT.
