Hello....Smoked my first pipe!!!

I'm also new to this side.....Hello to all

First off, I found my old mans pipes from when he was younger....I'm *borrowing* one for the time being...(He actually said I could have it).....I just cant take the Dr Gabrow (sp??) well, I joined this side of the board a few days ago...and decided I'll smoke a couple a bowls before I posted....

It wasen't what I was expecting.....the tobacco tasted kinda "woody" almost like smokin bark?????

Is that how it always taste...?
I bought a tin of Davidoff....cool mixture...smells great...but tasted like tree bark?

I always enjoyed smelling pipe tobacco as a youth and never even thought about smokin one...it just wasen't what I was expecting...flavor wise...I was expectin a deeper flavor......

It could be me.....Could it be the pipe....It was broken in....but has been unused for like 20 years...?

Should I try other brands of Tobacco...?

I'm still going to buy a corn pipe....what other tobacco should I try?
