Some of you may remember the online survey some of us did for General Cigars. I was contacted by Harry Ann Pierce (don't ask, I don't know) and was asked to do a taste test of three maduros. Two of them were pretty good and one, well . It turns out that...
Cigar #1 was a HDM Seleccion Royal Senador Maduro. It had a dark wrapper, not quite what I would call a maduro but very oily. It had a nice strong tobacco aroma, burned perfectly straight down to the nub, and had a great flavor IMO. I may have to try more of these, never smoked them before this. Cigar #2 was the Punch Deluxe Corona Gorda in maduro. It was a little shorter than the Senador but very much the same flavor profile as the HDM. It also had a very dark oily wrapper, burned great and produced lots of smoke. Cigar three was a Macanudo Maduro(I don't know which size) and could be described in one word, b*llsh*t. The wrapper looked like black toilet paper. I gave it a rating of Did anyone else on the original survey team get these same cigars?

Wasn't part of the survey team...but I concur with your review of the Mac Maduro.
