"Certified Vintage"

Any opinions on JR's (and maybe elsewhere) "certified vintage" cigars? Marketing ploy or something to take a closer look at?

If my rough estimate is right, they are looking for a 50% premium as compared to the current releases of the same cigar.

Seems pretty steep, but older is better right?
