Yep...
I will most likely watch Formula 1 in Monaco though.

Does Gomer Pile still sing?
Have they finally paved that 2 foot section of track? Do they still find hot/sexy Brazilian girls to drive slow cars? Is it still held in Indianapolis or have they moved it to a cool town like where they "Live on the Air" and not a place where they take it "One Day at a Time"?

Indy is special to me, but not for what you would expect. When my father was a boy, his uncle Max took he and his father to the race I'm his private plane. It was a special memory for him. When I was a kid, dad would put the race on the car radio and he, me, and my brother spent the time with him washing and waxing the Bonneville. Sounds kinda banal, but it was one of the few times in my youth that I got to spend three hours with him. When was 14 and living in Muncie, he let us play hooky and took us to the time trials. So, yeah, I'll have the race on this afternoon.

Good plan...I will toss a pork butt on the Traeger grill and watch the race. I think Alonso has a shot to win it.

I remember when the south bend paper had pages and pages of 500 coverage the entire month of May. And you couldn't watch it on TV in Indiana for years because of the blackout. But the 500 seems to have faded from the greatest spectacle in sports by a large degree. NASCAR certainly didn't help it any with its popularity. But life changes, baseball used to be the most popular sport.

Turned out to be a pretty good race.

Some guy not named A. J. Foyt won it.
That is all I needed to know. After that first spectacular crash I turned the race off. Figured I saw what I turned it on for and as I said A. J. Foyt didn't win it.
