Viaje a little boutique cigar

Has anyone else tried a Viaje cigar?

Viaje is a Nicaraguan puro rolled by Joya de Nicaragua.

I found the wrapper rough in appearance but big in taste. They have all burned very nicely, with a nice firm ash and a great finish.

We have them at our store. I'm not a really big fan. I found them to be a bit harsh, and have a pretty uneven burn. But to be fair, they sell pretty much the same as most of our other boutique cigars (with the exception of Bucanero, which we can't keep in the store). Hell, a guy just picked up 2 boxes the other day.

I just tried another to see if I still dislike them. Yup, still do.

For me it just has a harshness that I'm not a fan of, and I found the flavors don't work well with each other in the cigar. It's one of the few cigars that I put down half way through and don't finish.

I smoked one a couple of days ago (I think you sent it to me) and honestly I enjoyed it , nice burn , nice aroma , might be a bit hars at the begginning but it fades away after a few draws , sometimes the problem is more in the smoker then in the cigar (joke Richard )

I'm going to have to revise my opinion of Viaje. The ones I'd tried before that I wasn't a big fan of were the Oro line. We just got 5 vitolas of their Platino line in and, although I wasn't blown away, it definitely wasn't a bad cigar at all. It's definitely a full-bodied cigar with a bit of spice to it. To me it was kind of like an RyJ Anniversario, but with a bit more bite to it.

So I can say if you're not a fan of the Oro line, give the Platinos a shot.

Finally found these at a B&M in Baltimore. Looking forward to giving it a try.
