Why do we call them "domestics?"

Me too. NC covers everything except Cuban. I would consider domestics as those cigars who's companies are owned here in the U.S., not just those that are sold here. Many of them are sold outside of the U.S. as well, so long as they don't share the same name as a Cuban cigar (ie. Montecristo, Cohiba, etc.)
