As most of you are aware I have been a strong proponent of the Kitty Litter Humidification System. I feel it does a good job and compares favorably to the Climaxx product from a performance perspective. Over the past 30-60 days I have had some nice exchanges with Vern of Climaxx who I find to be a really decent fella with some good ideas. He is attempting to take Climaxx to...god I hate to say this..."the next level."
I have been impressed with some of the work Vern has been doing with the containers which hold the beads..especially his new large "Respircian de Havana" unit which holds a pound of beads and is less than 1" thick. Clearly, I differ with Vern on the "beads", but would suggest that Climaxx beads in his proprietary storage devices are nice products for those who do not want to fool around with loose beads or craft their own "bead storage solutions". Climaxx presents a good solution and value for these customers. I would suggest that Climaxx look at offering some devices that would have "dry beads" that could be used for folks who need to reduce humidity during the summer in high humidity areas. I recently had my humidity jump from 66% to 69% in a large humi and used a pound of dry beads(plain unconditioned silica gel at about 10% humidity) to get me back to 66% in 48 hours. I salt my plain beads with indicator beads (blue)that turn clear when they reach 40% humidity which makes it easy to tell if they are dry. When they saturate I pop them in the oven for an hour and get them back to 10% at which time the indicator beads turn blue again....just a though for a new product line Vern... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
