Indian Cuisine
Anyone enjoy Indian food? Don't have much experience with it but was looking at some recipes, Butter Chicken,Chicken Tikka Masala, Chole and Coconut Shrimp Curry to name a few and it looks delicious.

My only experience with Indian cuisine are the local Indian restaurants. Every time I eat Indian cuisine, I enjoy it so so so much. Even the food they serve at their all-you-can eat lunch buffets is worth the pounds you will put on.

Yeah, me too in terms of making it at home. It is hard to avoid eating that one at a decent Indian place and generally the buffets give you a chance to discover what you actually like. Kinda like Korean, it is easier to eat that at a restaurant than make it at home IMNSO.
Both cultures have a tendency to add their own flairs at the restaurant as well and tend to be inexpensive. I've eaten both in their native countries as well and honestly their stuff doesn't get Americanized noticeably. Enjoy food culture while you can, the tummy starts to get finicky as you age. J.

The last Indian joint I went to was a real dive. But my buddy said the food was really good. So I kept an open mind. It was basically a Chinese buffet that closed down and was reopened as an Indian cuisine buffet. The owners were Indian, so that put me at ease. The set up was a bit sloppy but the food smelled fantastic. Food ended up being a great experience. I left overstuffed. I recall the price was around $10.
Dishes seem difficult to get right. I would love to learn how to cook Indian cuisine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Tomorrow gonna give either Butter Chicken or Chicken Tikka Masala a go. But gonna do riced cauliflower instead of rice for lower carbs. Thinking a minted cucumber salad and roasted root veggies for a side. Found a Sweet and Sour Mango Pickles recipe I may try as well.

Much as my family and I love Tiki Masala, it's about as East Indian as I am. Yep, the British national dish was made by a British chef.

Jason, who knew! Haa!
Tonight was Chicken Tikka Masala served over riced cauliflower. Served with a minted cucumber salad and a keto naan bread. If I make the Tikka again I will double the spices. Also instead of cooking the chicken cubes in the oven I pan fried it in the marinade. The chicken was damn tender. The flavor was ok but understated I thought for Indian food. The riced cauliflower was microwaved in a steam bag. There are really good ones out there on the market but this wasn't one of them. Try another brand next time.
