Who is your favorite Blues musician(s)
As the subject says ....
Now then , I would love to say Clapton , however , he isnt one of the genuine blues guys , he has done much to promote the blues though... I will list mine after a few of you chime in... Dan

Robert Johnson immediately comes to mind. John Lee Hooker, Bonnie Raitt, Keb 'Mo, Johnny Shines, SRV, The blind kid whose name escapes me.
On further reflection, I'm adding Marcia Ball to my list. She's a top notch blues pianist and a blast to watch live.

Favorite....yikes. hmmmmm I would have to go with Buddy Guy and B.B. King if I had to pick. SRV would be right there but I think he is in the Clapton category, more blues influenced rock that brought blues back to public attention.

That is a tough one. I enjoy listening to many different musicians. I guess if I had to pick out just one it would be BB King.

Circa 1989 at the KC Blues Festival saw Buddy Guy, Bobby "Blue" Bland, and John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers (more of a blues/rock fusion) live. Also on my list would be Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, and Jeff Healy.
