Yeah the tobacco I had in plastic bags, and tins dried up... Good thing I'm starting to put the stuff in mason jars...

The best way to salvage dried up pipe tobacco is to :
1. Put it in a clean tupperware container. I use one about 8" square and 2" deep. 2. Get some paper towels - a piece bigger than the top of the tuperware. 3. Wet the paper towel with distilled water ... and wring it out. 4. Cover the top of the tupperware with the towel. 5. Snap on the top of the tupperware and set aside overnight. 6. In the morning your tobacco will be hydrated. 7. Put in in clean mason jars for long term aging.

I would recommend simply putting a humidity pack into the mason jar with the tobacco, easy, spill proof, idiot proof and no chance of causing mold
you can get them here http://www.cupojoes.com/cgi-bin/spgm...W&item=bov6572 |

When I used to smoke pipes, I used to put either a orange, lemon or lime peel in the container, Did a good job w/o any unwanted flavors.

I purchased some 2014 C&D Pegasus from a seller on another board and it came very dry. Too dry to smoke, very harsh and hot. Jarred it up in a few pint size jars with a 84% Boveda in each and a few weeks later perfect moisture level.
