Opus X - Petite Lancero

Opus X - Petite Lancero: 6 1/4" x 39
Bought in July

Well I had a pretty big lunch and decided to light this bad boy up. Had a very smooth and light brown wrapper that looked wonderful. I snipped the cap and look a couple prelight draws and could already tell this is going to be a strong cigar. Well it got going pretty good once lit. It didn't have the amount of smoke I was looking for in a cigar with this much hype. To make things worse, it was waaaay oily. One side burned faster than the other. I figured 4 months in the humi would be enough. So about halfway in I decided to clip the head somemore to see if that would help with getting more smoke out. BINGO! That did the trick alright! Rich, thick smoke that I came to love from the 19xx Padrons was now coming out of my Opus . Now onto the flavors, it was definitely a spicy cigar. Almost tasted like sweet jalapeno and a taste of berries in the background. This Opus was a definite finger burner. It seemed like everytime I said "okay I'm about to put it down," well I took another draw and didn't want to. I finally laid it to rest.

Synopsis -

I would recomend only smoking these with over a year of age on them. Because they are so oily, it made for numerous touch-ups which got quite annoying.
But I see what the hype is and can't wait to work my way through the many vitola (<edited for Moki ) that Arturo Fuente made for the Opus X
