My guess is not enough material, cigars and/or cedar, in the container. My desktop humidor drops rh when it's close to empty.

Good point! I've kept all the spanish cedar spacers from boxes and various odd pieces I've acquired over the years and use them to fill up as much of the empty space in my humidors as possible. IMO that really helps stabilize the humidity. It should be especially effective in tupperdores.

Yup, someone on CigarBum where I also posted this suggested the same thing, so I added some cedar dividers saved for boxes, and 11 more cigars, so we'll see if that helps.

Thanks

So, clearly you guys were correct, the Boveda was not able to keep the container at the proper humidity with 10 cigars or less, even in the small tupperdoors and a 320gr Boveda( which i dont understand why it couldn't keep a completely seal, small even empty, container at 65%)

Had a Don Carlos that had been in a small tupperdoor with only 8 other cigars and the wrapper cracked, peeled and flaked and felt dry, badly, and being a Don Carlos i highly doubt it was anything other than being dry from the Boveda not properly humidifying it properly.

They are now in my daily smokes bin with 40 other cigars.

I'm very seriously looking at getting a Newair 250ct winedor with heating and cooling (the temperature in my room can fluctuate from 65 to 75 degrees), and to have all my tupperdoor cigars in a completely humidity controlled, circulated air/humidity, container, along with 150 assorted others from my boxes in my large, perfectly humidified, boxes tupperdoors so my daily smokes container will be a nice climate controlled, well humidified and air circulated winedor of 250 cigars. That a pretty big amount of daily smokes singles and should last a while, lol

@Ljutic

Hmmm...
Definitely not good to hear when they cost a full months worth of money.

They dont really list any details on the heating and cooling system, so no idea if its the same as you've had issues with or not.

The plan was to use a 320gr Boveda in each drawer just to make things even, and a half pound of heartfelt beads if needed.

Now concerned if what i thought was overkill will actually be enough

Definitely appreciate the info though

Now I've made a mess because I removed my post from this thread and put where I originally planned it put it. Which was on your Wineador thread. So I understand you are responding to that post and everyone else is wondering what you are responding to.

Oh well, no biggie.
It doesnt diminish your information on them for others thinking about buying one.

My response is irrelevant.
