IM Corona or Kiribi pipe lighter

I’m looking to get a new pipe lighter. I like the Old Boy style. IM Corona is more expensive and is the standard of excellence in pipe lighters. Kiribi is also considered a really good pipe lighter.

Is the Kiribi as good as IM Corona or spend a bit more and get the industry best? I don’t have any experience using either lighter.

Sorry I missed this post Mike. I have both and they are really good lighters that hold a lot of fuel. My IM Corona is my favorite due to the styling but both work well. Do not use Zippo flints in these, they're too hard.

Top is the Old Boy Black Engine Turned the bottom is the Kabuto Black Nickel

Andy, what flints do you use? Thanks for the feedback.

Prometheus, IM Corona, or Kiribi, whichever is the best deal or available at the time.

Andy, which gas nozzle adapter do you use for these two lighters?

No adapter required for Lava or Blazer fuel.

Late to the party, but I have the I.M. Corona Old Boy and love it. That said, I also have a discontinued I.M. Corona Double Corona cigar lighter. Both are well over 20 years old now and still going strong. Wish I had bought a second Double Corona lighter when they still available.

Wouldn't have an concern about picking up another Old Boy for use with both pipes and cigars. I also use IM Corona flints. I bought a double lifetime supply when my local cigar retailer closed up shop.

Ljutic, I too had two Old Boys I got back in the mid 1980’s, but lost them during past moves. Man I miss those lighters. One was brass like in color and the other was silver, and I recall they had pipes drawn on them, similar this this one.

Wish I still had them.

I did pick up a REALLY old IM Corona cigarette lighter off Ebay many years ago. I never did get it running well. It was also a piezo electric ignition so that may have been the problem. I always seem to do better with flint lighters when lighter life is concerned.

Knowing what I know now, I'd take any IM Corona flint lighter over a similar lighter from Dupont. Both are very good. One is much more affordably priced. One is a functional art piece.
