Proper RH
I thought I'd start a new topic based on a discussion that began in another thread. There is material on the web that indicates that cigars must be kept at 73% RH or they will dry out. I have also read that plume will not form unless the RH is maintained at 70% or more.
Now, obviously many of us store are cigars at less than 70%. I find that my cigars smoke best at 65-67% RH. But, what about long term storage? If cigars are being stored for a year or more, does the RH need to be higher to prevent any damage or to promote healthy aging? Have any of you guys ever seen plume on cigars that were stored at 65%?
