Burn Time

What makes two cigars same size burn at completely different rates?? I usually walk the dog w/ a 5x50..Once around the development and were done (both of us)..Smoked a Nestico bought at Famous (not too bad for the price)..had to go around twice to finish it (it was too good to dump)..Why???
