My Coolerdor is working out great. Thanks!
I have to thank all the Forumites for hippin' me to the Coolerdor. I had a starter humidor I got from Thompson that was junk. That, or I did not properly season it. Either way, it was too small. So I bought a 36 quart Igloo and a $6 Walmart digital hygrometer, (passed the salt test dead on at 75%). I just started using Ci-Gel, before that I had a small bowl of distilled water covered with puntured foil. I seem to average a 78% reading. Don't know yet if that will be too damp or not.
I've mentioned the Coolerdor concept to a couple of "seasoned" smokers I know and got a confused look and a big "HUH"? One guy was interested and the other guy thought I was out of my mind. I believe he thinks storing fine cigars in a cooler is just undignified. Anyway, this Forum is great. Though I have smoked cigars off and on for 25 years, I've been pretty hardcore for the past two. At least one a day. Thanks again to all. Steve |
