I think a good artisan carved pipe is the absolute best. But the tobacco is really the important thing.
I found that yellow Virginia tobacco, by itself or in blends, caused me tongue bite. Once I figured that out, I looked for blends that specified what tobacco was used. Red Virginia is fine. My favorite blends often had dark fired Kentucky and or Perique tobacco. MacBaren's Dark Kentucky blends are tasty. C&D's Old Joe Kratnz was my go to. I smoked many pounds of it. |
