Eh... There are only a couple of Toranos I even like. Unless they keep the same blenders and rollers it's anyone's guess what will happen.

Liked most of what they had been never made a huge effort to track it down after I quit using CI as my primary source.

The blends seldom seem to remain the same after these type of things happen.

Same here. Pretty much a non-issue with me other than I generally don't think consolidation in any industry is a good thing.

They run in the medium to mild end of the spectrum, except for the exodus which i feel is medium full... so they are perfect for my pallet.

What bothers me is that I had to go to their site to get the press release to mount on our site. They're one of our biggest sponsors and we don't get a copy of their press release?

I'm interested to see how this shakes out. I'm a big fan of a few lines from Toraño.......Casa Toraño, Virtuoso, Signature and 1916 Cameroon.

Then again, I keep Excalibur, Hdm, LGC, Sancho Panza, Punch and the occasional Macanudo in my humdiors........so I'm a big fan of the General too.

Kinda weird timing for me personally. Spent time just last night with a long time friend of mine and many others on this board, Armando, a long time rep for Torano, as well as Sam Leccia. I read this today on another site which also mentioned that according to a current Torano employee, the current staff will not likely be making the move to General.

I've always enjoyed Torano products overall, I hope they don't do too much tweaking to their existing lines, and certainly hope this does not cause any loss of livelihood to our friends who have been with Torano thru the years.

kinda wonder how this will affect hansotia, as I have always heard that the toranos made the majority of them.

I'm kind of supposing that "buying" torano will be a lock, stock, barrel arrangement. They will own name, factories, stock, and everything. This could mean something. It's possible that there are no contracts in place that would carry over to the new owner, and they may choose not to support hansotia.
