As a huge fan of all liquors I have tried many rums and spiced rums. Captain Morgan gets a bad name, and deservidly so in the fact that it is a sad product next to other spiced rums. But I have found that Captain Morgan Private Stock is a real value with good taste, especially when paired with a spicy cigar. I have a few rules about this rum, so here goes. First off PS is still harsh when you pick up a bottle. I recommend storing it in a dark are for 6 months to a year before drinking. When you go with it, I recommend it straight up, for it will be smooth after sitting. Almost to smooth. You could easily chug it, and the taste will shock those who are used to Captain Morgan. But sipping is the best way to conserve the experience. I recnetly had my first Fuente Fuente Opus X, and I went with my Hennessy X.O. for sipping, but I really wish I had went with my PS. I think it would have made a fine compliment. Don't be afraid to buy a bottle, it is only around 20 bucks for a 750 ml bottle, and after a short wait, you will be able to experience a great combination. Well, IMHO anyway.
