What's the big deal? That's what they do at all of your finer restaurants when they find mold on food. They just wipe it off and serve it.
Reminds me. . .this married couple owned a c-store with full kitchen. Their "specialty" was chinese food. Married couple going through a nasty divorce. Store going down hill fast. Judge made 'em work separate shifts. Money disappearing each shift. Gasoline not replenished. Pumps off. Air conditioning off. Store closed with health inspector notice posted. Store reopened a few days later. Still is poor shape. Still selling chinese food. Once they realized I was buying the place, doors shut for good. So, I'm in there getting things cleaned up (closed) and the health inspector stops by to see what's up. I asked him about what was going on. . .their beef and pork was moldly and they would throw it in the deep fryer for a minute or two and sell it. He made her throw away all the moldy meat in front of him. He returned the next day to find she had dug it out of the trash and was still serving it. . .nice. Broke and desparate.

At any rate, sometimes you tell people about problems. Other times, you don't say a word. I'm sure the cigar store owner, in his mind, knows damn good and well how to operate his humidor and would not, at least privately, take too kindly to someone telling him that he doesn't know his profession.

I like The JD's approach.
