Salt Test on Hygrometer

I received my humidor from UPS yesterday. I took the hygrometer and did a salt test. After 6 hours this thing was reading 80%, which obviously seems high. I adjusted it per the instructions.

I didn't have any table salt for the test. All we had was sea salt and koscher salt. I used the koscher salt for the test. I can't imagine this would effect the outcome on the hygrometer reading. What do you guys think?

I ordered a Perfecto hygrometer to place inside. Figured that I could check one reading against the other.
