Xikar Lighters.........Your Thoughts?

My daily carry lighter is giving me fits and they don't make this model so I'm on the hunt for something similar. I really liked this lighter because it was small, had a great torch flame that shot out about two inches (if you needed it) and was dependable. My home lighter is a Dupont but it's too large to carry. I'm hearing great things about the Xikar line. I've used Kurt's cutters since he came out with them and have the "Havana" model for a daily cutter. Can anyone recommend a Xikar model lighter?

I picked up the Xikar after my Dupont Xtend finally bit the dust after years of use...I wanted one that had a similar open close top when the user depresses the side 'button' to activate the lighter. So far so good...and easy on the $$$$

Use the same one. Only con is I wish the tank was bigger. Other than that, it is outstanding.

I'm a recent convert to the Xikar Exodus because I love a soft flame lighter. This is one of the best because it is windproof ( but don't try to light a cigar in the wind just because this is windproff...soft flames are to be used inside unless conditions are favorable for outside lighting ) and it is guaranteed for life. Check CBID as I won an auction for mine which is the gun metal for $25...great price! There are also Xikar single flame torches which are also really good.

I bought the Xikar Incline because it was the least expensive. It's not really special, it lights a cigar and gets the job done. After using it a few times I noticed that the long lid gets in the way sometimes. I wish I had spent the extra cash for one of their nicer lines.

I refuse to spend money on lighters. I either lose them or break them...I bought a triple flame torch on ebay for about $5.00 shipped years ago and it is one of my most dependable lighters..Other than it eats gas like crazy..If I purge and clean it it lights all the time

It really depends on what you are looking for. They have them in many price increments. The element is probably the most popular. Two flames and a punch cutter. I have always liked the EX for the reason already mentioned plus the fuel seems to last well. One that I have really been enjoying is the new versa. Single flame with two punches. However the single flame is fatter than most and lights a cigar well.

If you want something in the more mid range price look at the inpress.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info.........my mine goal is to find something as small and light as the one I had. Most lighters now are too big to carry IMO.

The one I carry now is chrome, about one inch wide and four inches tall, half an inch thick. All corners are rounded. I really like this lighter but they just don't make them now. Bought it at the Sosa store at Disney four or so years ago.
