Cigar Repair

I've got a few sticks with a torn wrapper, so I picked up some pectin at the grocery store. I read it a couple places on the net that this will repair the tear.

What the hell do I do with the pectin?

Any other suggestions?

Use a small paint brush (the kind that come with kids' water color sets) to apply it. Let it sit for a while and once it's dry, it'll be good as new. Once you open the pectin, store it in a non-reactive container in your fridge. It'll keep forever.

Yep - good advice!

I got a spot in my coolerdor where I store my damaged cigars. Once I have collected 3+ cigars, I do a repair project. I try & use as little pectin as I have to - so far, the repaired cigars have smoked fine !

Thanks for the replies guys. So the pectin is a powder? I'm assuming that I have to mix it with water? Other than buying the pectin and how to apply it, I have NO clue

It's a liquid. And it should have come in a box with two pouches inside.

Certo makes pectin in pre-mixed and powder. There are other brands in powder. It'd be easier with the pre-mix.....

Ah, never seen the powder. If that's what you have and you haven't opened it yet, I'd probably take it back and exchange it for the liquid then.

You could always use it to make jelly!
