1502 Black Gold Corona

This cigar has a smooth dark wrapper with aromas of cocoa and cinnamon. The box pressed bunch is firm and the cold draw is good. Today’s beverage is a Real Ale Coffee Porter.



The initial notes are mostly sweet cocoa with an earthiness that complement each other well. This is a great medium to full bodied smoke. The burn is even and the ash is mottled grey and fairly solid. It drops off easily to reveal a conical burn.



The first third is a very pleasant blend of cocoa and coffee notes with a touch of cinnamon. The excellent draw provides plentiful smoke. The burn continues to be even. The Coffee Porter is an excellent pairing.



During the second third the flavors continue to blend well with a sweetness in the smoke. There is also some black pepper in the retrohale. The cigar is very smooth. The burn remains even.



Approaching the final inch the pepper in the retrohale has picked up while the sweet cocoa and coffee notes continue. The construction and complexity of this cigar are excellent. The burn remains even to the end. A very good quick smoke. Overall it earns 9/10. Joe Bob says check it out.
